Faculty Profile

Maitrayee Roychoudhury has an M.Phil. in English Literature from the Department of English, Delhi University. She is currently an Assistant Professor of English at ARSD College, New Delhi. Her research, which she hopes to enlarge into a doctoral thesis, focuses on late-Victorian and early Edwardian popular fiction. Tracing the discursive formation of certain staple ideological configurations—the woman, the home, and the nation— as well as the contestations therein is of special interest to her. Her research areas also include Bengali children’s fiction, crime writing and graphic satire focusing on South Asia. Her essays have been published in Scroll, The New Indian Express, Quiet Mountain: New Feminist Essays, Victorian Web, and CrimeCulture.
